Summer courses - main courses & examination courses, all ages from 16 years
Bournemouth is without question one of the finest student towns on England's South Coast. Its beauty and numerous facilities have helped to make it an important centre of tourism, education and business. It is also an excellent centre for shopping. Communications are good, with a comprehensive bus and train service extending throughout Britain and to many parts of Europe. London is only 100 minutes by train.

Bournemouth hosts numerous events during the year, including powerboat races, vintage car rallies, international tennis championships and windsurfing competitions. During the summer, there are weekly firework displays from the pier, laser-light shows, the Musicmakers Festival and the unique Flowers by Candlelight, when the people of Bournemouth gather to light 15,000 candles in the Central Gardens. Bournemouth has five theatres and concert halls, offering a huge selection of events throughout the year. There are

plays, pop and classical concerts, musicals, opera, ballet and comedy. Bournemouth has two orchestras, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Bournemouth Sinfonietta.

With over thirty night clubs and discotheques, including the two largest discos in the south of England, there is plenty of night life in Bournemouth. There are also some 180 restaurants and cafés offering every type of international cuisine.

The school
The school is located in an enviable position, just one kilometre from the sandy beaches of Bournemouth yet only 500 metres from the varied and interesting shopping centre of Westbourne. In this suburb you will find banks, a Post Office, international restaurants, classic English pubs and a variety of retail outlets to satisfy every taste. Bournemouth town centre is 1.5 kilometres to the East and Poole 3 kilometres to the West.

These towns are world famous as international holiday resorts and sailing centres and yet a serious attitude to study prevails with the Bournemouth University and Bournemouth & Poole College of Further Education catering for over 30,000 English students.

The school is housed in an attractive building set in its own gardens close to the beach and town centre. It is situated in an attractive part of Bournemouth with all facilities within walking distance

To this end, there is a full time Welfare Officer available to give advice and help on all matters concerning the student's stay in England.

    Activities
The school prides itself on being able to offer a full and varied programme. A relaxed student social life is important for the mind to be able to absorb and retain what is studied in the classroom. Sports such as soccer, table tennis, volleyball, and horse riding are organised by the staff. Public tennis courts, tenpin bowling, swimming, championship (and beginners) golf and squash are all easily accessible and near the school. As Bournemouth is a seaside town the popular sports of windsurfing and sailing are easily available.
